SP8 Series Spark Ignited Pilots are designed to provide an ignition source for utility, trailer mounted and portable skid mounted flares. Ignition of the pilot gas is ensured by an intermittent spark in the Pilot nozzle every two seconds regardless of the Pilot flame temperature.
Standard control equipment for the SP8 Series Pilots include a Spark Module and Temperature Switch for monitoring the Pilot flame (complying with EPA requirements) mounted in a Nema 4X fiberglass enclosure.
The standard controls for the SP8 Series Pilots are designed to operate on 480 vac, 120 vac (battery backup optional) or 12v dc with a solar charger.
Minimum fuel gas requirement for this Pilot is 78 scfh @ 5 psi for natural gas and 21 scfh @ 3 psi for propane. Equipment is normally in stock for immediate delivery.
Freezing moisture in fuel gas lines is a major cause of flare pilot failure in cold environments.
SP8 Series Spark Ignited Pilot in conjunction with DBI’s Cold Weather (CW) package will allow for reliable operation in sub-freezing conditions without the fear of moisture laden fuel gas freezing, causing a blockage of the orifice.
