High Pressure Retrofit Tips
D.B.I.’s High Pressure Retrofit Flare Tips are engineered to meet the unique needs of your facility. Designed for smokeless flaring of high-pressure vapors, a Fixed Orifice (TBone®) or Variable Orifice Pressure Tip (VOPT) can be added to any air flare or utilized as a High Pressure Stand Alone unit. Designed for simplicity, cost-effectiveness, reliability, and broad operating capacity, these retrofittable flare tips exceed expectations and reduce emissions.
About High Pressure Retrofit Tips
D.B.I.’s High Pressure Retrofit Tip options provide modular, low-maintenance solutions that optimize efficiency and maintain compliance across a broad range of operating conditions.
The Variable Orifice Pressure Tip (VOPT) is engineered for smokeless flaring of high-pressure vapors typically released from treaters and compressors during emergency events. Its self-aspirating design ensures smokeless performance from 0–10 MMSCFD per tip without relying on sacrificial components or external power. For greater flexibility, VOPT’s can be configured in a dual pressure system, combining an AF-Series Flare with up to six VOPT’s for enhanced efficiency and control.
The TBone® Fixed Orifice Tip provides a cost-effective solution for high volume emergency release flaring. Each unit is precisely sized to match customer flow rates and pressure thresholds, ensuring stable combustion under variable conditions. Third-party tested and verified, the TBone® achieves 98%+ destruction efficiency and a 99% turndown ratio while maintaining low operating pressures.
D.B.I.'s retrofit options provide reliable, customizable, and emissions reducing solutions tailored to your facility’s unique requirements.

Variable Orifice Pressure Tip Retrofit – Before and After
In this video, the flare on the left has been retrofitted to accept a VOPT, while the flare on the right operates without one. The visual difference is striking.
VOPT’s can be added to existing flares by installing a 6" flange at the tip.
